Jen & Derek’s Wedding

When I shoot the engagements, then shoot the bridals, then shoot the wedding.  I end up feeling like I’m friends with the couple.  It’s actually kinda sad when their wedding finishes and I know I won’t see them again real soon!  Jen and Derek were a very gracious bride and groom with a darling little daughter.  I mean, check out those eyes three pictures down!  I wish them all the best and hope they have a lifetime full of laughs and love.

It’s interesting I find for certain situations or events the pictures seem to draw me into one particular style or another while editing.  The last one I felt very vintagey, this one, I was very drawn to black and white.  I’m not always sure why! I also realized a bit ago I forgot to post Jen’s bridals! So look for that post to come.

Billy & Melinda’s Wedding

I had only spoken to Melinda on the phone and through email when I showed up on the evening of her wedding.  I always wonder what it’s going to be like when I have that type of contact.  What will the bride and groom look like, and what will the wedding be like?

Well, I can answer that now:  Beautiful and Beautiful.

The evening was pretty warm but gorgeous and the couple could not have been more friendly, warm and happy.  You could clearly see that they loved each other very much.

We took just a few pictures with the couple after the ceremony, and I focused mainly on documenting their day.

AJ & Tine’s Wedding

I wasn’t at this wedding very long.  Wanna know why?  They compressed all the festivities into a two hour period so that they could all jump in boats and spend the rest of the day on Bear Lake.  Fun, no?!  It was a gorgeous day for them, they couldn’t have been more pleased I’m sure with the weather.  And the beautiful skies… well you’ll see.  My only challenge, those pesky, mid-day shadows, but that’s life, right!?

The Extended Tripp Family

An extended family shoot has it’s own challenges and rewards.  Lots of people, lots of personalities, lots of styles, lots of likes, lots of dislikes, lots of opinions.  Also, lots of really awesome, really nice people to meet.  For me this started a whole weekend working in Bear Lake.  This extended family had gathered together from all over and had obviously been having a really great time playing together at Bear Lake before grandpa and grandma left to serve a mission.  However, none of the kids had much sympathy for the ‘work’ involved in their call… they’ll be going to Hawaii! :)

This shoot involved over 700 pictures (one set of grandparents, 8 children of their own, almost all with families of their own, one child with a child with a family of his own, so you do the math), so for this shoot I compiled a little collage to give you some idea of the diversity of stuff we shot.

Oh and PS, MAN WAS IT HOT!!!

Maggie & Ty

Maggie & Ty are at school in Idaho, but the wedding will be in Logan in November.  Also they just happened to be here for just a few more days before returning to school so we got them last minute before they took off.  Maggie is someone who smiles and laughs a lot, as you’ll surely notice in their pictures, I like that.  She’s also a red head, and I really like that! Ty didn’t seem so sure about this crazy rite of passage, but Maggie worked on tickling Ty to get him to bust out the smiles for us! :)
