Trevon & Jenny’s Wedding

When getting this ready for posting, it’s the first time I’ve ever had to google the name of the temple to make sure I spelled it right!  Jenny & Trevon had the fun experience of being married in the brand spankin’ new Oquirrh Mountain temple which the spelling of always throws me off.  But don’t worry, that should be right!  I had never shot there, and it’s a main reason I took the job even though it is a bit of a drive.  I just really wanted to opportunity to check it out and shoot there.

Jenny and her mom I knew (see last post) but I still had yet to meet Trevon or the rest of the family.  The day was beautifully blue skied and fairly warm, however, the wind was relentless!!!  You will see from the pictures that we have lots of dramatic veil and hair blowing… I think it was just driving Jenny plan crazy since she had hair in her eyes all morning!  Good thing when she looks back all she’ll really think about is how great it is they got married.

I loved Jenny’s flowers and the flowers at her reception were beautiful also.  It was a great job of making a beautiful reception with warm lighting and beautiful flowers.  Congrats Jenny & Trevon!  May you have your most amazing experiences to come.

Jenny’s Bridals

I met Jenny for the first time the day of the bridals.  She lives down South, so therefore we’d only talked on the phone.  Jenny is a photographer herself and it’s always a compliment when someone who enjoys photography, enjoys YOUR photography.  I also kind of enjoy knowledgeable opinions on occasion like, ‘I really don’t like soft focus effects’.  Helps me know a little more how to tailor the prints!  I actually got the editing done on these awhile back as we rushed them to get some prints for her wedding just a few days later, however, I still wanted to put them up and hadn’t yet.

We took all these pictures on a golf course, and Jenny, myself, and her mom and sister-in-law are all still just greatful we didn’t get hit with a golf ball, although or friendly attendant from the golf course kept making us feel like perhaps that was an imminent thing! Ha!  He was a funny old man and he drove Jenny around the golf course as her personal escort and the rest of us drove behind.  It was a new experience for me!  I decided I do like driving from location to location in golf carts, I don’t like feeling like I’m going to be hit.  Guess it’s a trade off!

The Swainstons

No coincidence these guys came to me.  One happens to be my cousin.  So I’m very glad that she thought enough of my photography to bring her business to me, even though she’s not conveniently located near me.  It’s fun to do a relaxed, casual family pictures.  It’s just a very different experience than a wedding or the like, and it is nice variety, since due to the time of year I’d just been doing a lot of weddings!  It’s no secret that kids can be a challenge, but they also can add to a picture some fun that only they can, funny expressions, laughs, etc.  Sometimes my favorite pictures of kids are when they’re not doing as their parents would prefer, haha.  These little guys were pretty great though.  The older boy had down his child modeling poses, and only needed to be redirected a little over time to get focused.  The younger one wasn’t pleased with the picture situation entirely, and got tired of the pictures before too long, but overall was behaving quite well.  Where kids are concerned, I call that very successful.
