So I was really excited when Jeremy asked me to shoot for their upcoming wedding. I haven’t really ‘seen’ Jeremy in a billion years, but waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back in the day, we shared a bus stop.
Jeremy and Shelli have a cute story. Turns out they have a lot of mutual facebook friends and Shelli kept seeing Jeremy’s picture under the ‘people you might know’ side of her facebook. So she kept seeing him pop up, thought he was kinda cute, so checked on who their mutual friends were and asked her cousin (I believe, don’t quote me) who was a mutual friend who he was. The cousin got into matchmaker mode and asked if she should hook up a blind date or something. Jeremy got an email that he should ask out her cousin who was in the same town as him, she thought he was cute, yadda yadda… Jeremy promptly filed the email in his ‘to do’ list. And like a true man, didn’t. Haha. So, long story short, they finally had that date. Jeremy had no idea he was in trouble for not calling immediately and Shellie decided to forgive him. Good thing, because it really worked out from that point! I asked Shelli if her cousin is pretty proud of herself for this one, she said, ‘yep’. Anyway, on to the pics, I had a hard time picking out which pictures to show for this session. Shelli is a pretty natural model, and they both look great! The locations seemed particularly lovely and this whole session went pretty smoothly. Of course they have weeds in their nice clothing, but I always say, ‘sometimes things that feel the worst, look the best’! We’ll see these two again several times on the blog, but enjoy for now!
I’m moving along on these posts, but still have tons left to go… which will keep it rolling this September, I’ve had a great down time the last few weeks and have really just been kicking my feet up.
Lisa is a great client in that she takes it seriously and want great pictures, but doesn’t turn into a stresshead! Jake is great to just come and have fun and lighten the mood cracking jokes. We spent several hours of our evenings (and of course we all had caffiene with us, which makes me TOTALLY at ease… love my Dr. Pepper!) out shooting and joking around. I’m looking forward to their wedding this October and Lisa’s bridals… so look forward to those!
I say a lot that I think of a lot of clients as friends by the time their weddings are done. But in this case, we actually were already friends! Maybe this was for good, maybe for bad, I suppose you’ll have to decide!
I met Reed like a billion years ago now…. okay like 8-9 maybe? He and his friends introduced me to my future husband. Awww. My husband has known him since High School. Then, about 2+ years ago Reed asked if we’d go on a double date with him -which he normally didn’t do (I think because we embarrassed him and know way too much about him)- but anyway he did, and who did we meet? A girl named Caitlyn. Fortuitous that we could be there when he met the girl he was going to marry as he was there when my husband met the girl he would!
We both liked Caitlyn for Reed right away… we crossed our fingers he wouldn’t screw it up! And look!!! He didn’t!!! Go Reed!!! Caitlyn has since managed to hang in there over our constant teasing and hazing and even has learned how to dish it out a little when needed (a good skill for survival around here). Unfortunately they’re also abandoning ship for Hawaii just as they got cool – hehe-
These two will appear on the blog a couple more times so no worries… but for now, enjoy!
Alex and Katie had at least one thing in common right from the start, neither one of them wanted to get married… ain’t it always the way!
They met up at Utah State singing in the choir, and I’m tempted here to make cheesy puns, but I won’t. Can’t help it, engagement sessions make me feel so cheesy, in the best way! They’re getting married later this month, so stay tuned for that session for these beautiful people. Tell me what you think!
Millie knew she wanted to marry Casey, the only hitch was she had to wait awhile till he was single… so she did!
I thought that was a cute story. We had a great time out shooting, and I’m so excited to do the rest of the sessions with these guys through their June wedding! We traipsed all over Brigham City for these shots, and though it was a beautiful day, it was a bad day for shooting, funny how that happens, so we had to get creative sometimes… but it all worked out, funny it always does. Enjoy perusing this couple’s cuteness!
Sandy came to Bridal Extravaganza in Layton and won free bridals with yours truly! We set a date and set out to shoot. The wind almost blew us away, then it started to snow, so we decided to come back a different day. The second day turned out to be completely lovely and fairly warm for February. Even the few pictures we took on the first day have a nice cuddly quality to them that looks beautiful (I was supposed to just let you think they were so in love that they couldn’t let go of each other, not tell you they were freezing, oops!). Happy accidents I guess. These guys despite their protests were really great models. They had kind of natural instincts and didn’t need a lot of direction, and it shows. Anyway, show these guys some comment love!!
So when you look at these pictures you are eventually going to have to think to yourself, ‘Woah. Either she’s really short, or he’s really tall.’ I will answer that for you. He’s very tall. He is 6’6″ and has a size 16 shoe! When I saw him get out of his car I thought, ‘well this could be a challenge to pose’. And while I did have them sit a lot, it wasn’t as bad as I thought. They agreed to come do some locations that I had wanted to do for awhile, and I liked that! I don’t have one black & white image picked out in here I realized….I just really liked the colors we worked with! Anyway, I’ll see them again in December for their wedding and I’m excited!
These kids were totally accommodating and perfectly lovely and I can’t wait for the wedding this October! I can’t say that this shoot went off ‘without a hitch’ however, there was a broken flip flop… oh and Alex got electrocuted… details. It may or may not be as bad as it sounds depending on if you have experience (Alex said it was a little like being stabbed), but on our way to the river and field you’ll see in the following, we crossed over some electric fences for the cattle and well Alex informed us where one was on the way back by personal experience. Still, even with that I don’t care, this was worth it (easy for me to say right), but LOOK HOW PRETTY!

Whitney and Ryan are getting married in August, I can’t wait! I had so much fun with this shoot. These guys thought about where they wanted to shoot, when they wanted to shoot, what they wanted to wear, thought about posing, and everything else involved. They were serious, but we had a good time. They cared, but weren’t stressed out. It was a fantastic recipe for a shoot and as a result I had an impossible time narrowing down this post! Believe it or not, as many pictures as are here, I left as many again on the cutting room floor to keep it from going on forever. Oh well, at least they’ll get to see them and enjoy them!
