I’m always excited to do family pictures for friends I don’t see a whole lot. This hot mama and her daughter live in good ole BC, so we don’t see enough of them. We’ve long joked that my son, Charlie and her daughter should be betrothed, and I really think they should!
She is just the cutest, smartest, funniest thing you could see. While she wasn’t really interested in our idea of a photoshoot, she was having a fantastic time despite our efforts doing her own thing. She was playing and laughing and wanted really bad to get in the water. It all worked out in the end, always does, though toddlers always give us a run for our money, what you gunna do!? Anyway, check out these sweet girlies!
I’m starting my new years resolution to get the blog caught up one day early, how efficient and on top of it am I? Starting off the blogging spectacular with some from October… ooops!
So the Hansens are our good friends. It’s always fun to go out with them, we keep these things as light as possible, but not necessarily as warm. The last family picture we did in the snow, and while the setting was gorgeous we basically had someone crying at all times, haha, lesson learned. So we went a little warmer this year! Don’t tell the IRS, but these guys also always get their sessions free because Jeff happens to be a VERY handy craftsman, and I always have these crazy projects that start with statements like, ‘well maybe we could get Jeff to…’ Anyway, this was a pretty area, great colors and I hope you enjoy.
And lastly a quick word of advice: Families who want fall shoots including colorful leaves, talk to your photographer REALLY early (as in, start thinking and talking in July early), because for leaves in Utah you have to be on top of it. they often last only a very short time, and you need to have your clothes ready and be available with the first sign of color, just in case!
(This picture, is my absolute fav leaf throwing picture ever! Little dude on the left has just the best ever facial expression!)
The Shaffers came to do a mini family session with me in September. But it’s not a random connection, Amy I know from High School. Which lately feels like a million years ago, but it was nice to see her and chat. I hope that the hubby and kids didn’t feel left out, but we just had so much to catch up on! She’s a busy mom with these two little boys running around! With one boy running around I wonder how she makes it work! Boys, they are a handful! Check out this fun family, aren’t they sweet!
So I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard as I did on this shoot in awhile…. and not just because Angie has been a friend of mine since we were about 5…for a lot of reasons…. one is embarrassing for me and since I’m writing this I can refuse details, so we will not go in to it, but sufficeth to say that I wore a white sheet from my car trunk as a toga for the last half of the shoot… The other was while we were wandering through the park we saw a lady in the trees on her knees, real low leaning over digging in the dirt (geo caching maybe?) and her pants were…. less than on… I mean, craaaaccckkk city… like worse than crack city… full butt… haha….
Angie and myself had tears in our eyes…. so in the picture you see of them later, you’ll know why they’re ‘crack’ing up. Ha!
If you follow the blog you might recognize these guys. They were back ‘reunioning’ in Bear Lake and I’d taken their pictures the last time, so they called me again! Which I love! This is a bunch of families and a bunch of kids and makes for a big shoot! At least this time I wasn’t pregnant! I remember being a little warm being pregnant the last time. This is obviously just a random assortment… we took SOOOO many! Enjoy!
Two years and one kid later, they’re baaaacccck. I guess it’s a good sign I didn’t terrorize them too much the first time we did their family pictures. I’ve known the Taylors now for…a few years… (Let’s just say, there were no kids involved when I first met them.
) and they are as fun and funky as their style indicates. They keep busy and they have fun. Audrey also does my hair and is grrreat! Just let me know if you’d to go see her and I’ll hook you up with her info. Leave the cute cute fam some comment love!
Okay, I’m sure they’re sick of people joking about that moniker, but I couldn’t resist! I’ve known these guys for awhile, from before there were 3 kids! They are fun loving and happy and just really fun to watch interact with each other. Twins must be a real adjustment, so kudos guys!

When I got this email inquiring about a family shoot, I assumed we’d be doing a somewhat classic fall shoot. A family session, this time of year, it’s just what I am thinking the client is going to ask for. They didn’t. Don’t get my wrong, I love fall and I can understand that, however, I was also THRILLED when Tawnya told me she wanted urban/shabby chic. They’re not outdoorsy and I love the change of pace! They are as fun and unique as that suggests if you ask me. Their little one has just the greatest eyes, which you’ll see, and the whole family is obviously just a great time! Thanks you guys for letting me do your family pictures this year!

Angie and I are BFF’s. Or so said our friendship necklaces when we were like 8. Her cute little family and I headed out for this session on a nicely overcast day. I’m not sure little M thought this was what she wanted to do with her day. She also found me frightening. When I tried to make her smile, she screamed. Ha, that’s what I get for thinking I’m funny I guess.

(LOVE this pouty face!!! HA!)
