Resuming some much delayed blogging with the adorable Perkins family. It's always a pleasure to update someone's family photo. I know how important it is for me, to mark these years and it's a something I hope they can treasure years down the road. For the Perkins' their eldest daughter was headed off to College! Wowza, so mom knew she needed to take this opportunity before life gets really scattered and crazy to get pictures of them all together at the cusp of this big change. Such an adorable family, such a love for each other. Such a beautiful day!
This was a quick little extended family shoot just after Christmas last year. It HAD to be a quick shoot cuz it was brutal cold... Brutal! But you know with this extended family shoots you have to strike while everyone is in town and sometimes your window is just very short. We talked about perhaps moving in doors as it was a concern but everyone decided they'd rather very quickly tough it out outside and just survive! :) In the end we got what we needed, grandma, grandpa, their kids and two grandkids and a good cold memory for years to come!
Okay this session has been in my files for long enough and needs sharing! This family is just so stinkin' cute! Everyone was cooperative & the older kids are as invested in their little sister as their parents. They are so adorable with her your heart just melts. We had a teeny bit of wind, but we didn't let that hold us back! Instead we captured the family both in the tradition type family picture garb and then less traditional, but oh so fun Red Sox gear. Mom said after, 'we should have just done the Red Sox gear, look how happy it made Kevin (husband)'. So women out there, if you have some less than excitable picture takers at your house perhaps this is a lesson. Just let them represent their favorite team and they'll hop on board! :)
I'm having fun looking back on all these golden hour warm fall sessions, and this one is no different. The Anthonys are just a gorgeous family and easy to photograph. These kiddos are just plain too cute! The little ones took a moment to warm up to me, but that's pretty standard. If you look into the littles hands you may see them clutching rocks. Just cuz it's fun to play with rocks... and heck, we're having run right!? I like seeing this little families getting bigger and older.. but also it starts making me realize i'm getting old! lol!
The Garrity family started as a whole heap of boys. Four sons, but now mama has 4 new daughters and a bunch of grandkids, and they are all smiles and laughs. Love that. They were together and took the opportunity to get those pictures with grandma, grandpa, their kids and grandkids. The weather this year for fall shoots was really so nice and cooperative! Even with a handful of littles this shoot was really quite easy!!
It's a rare treat to watch people over the span of years and see how things work out. I've known the mom of this family since she was pretty little. When she got engaged I took her engagement pictures, then her wedding pictures. Then when her daughter turned 1 I took some pictures for them to document that milestone. And now there is a little boy and here we are capturing #2 turning 1. Wow the time flies. This little family is fun and relaxed and that makes for a good time taking pictures with low stress. Enjoy the fruits of our labors! :)
The Shaffers are a cute family I've had the pleasure of working with before. They came for a quick fall session to update the family picture with the littlest one. With a host of boys I have to bring my boy knowledge from having a couple of my own. All in all these guys were total gems and the day couldn't have been prettier or more golden. On a dreary February day like today these pictures are like that little glimmer of hope that the summer comes again!
This cute familly was in town for a wedding of other relatives. They seized the opportunity to get quick family picture while everyone was in town. I was happy to be able to get these caputured for them and it was fun to hear them raz each other and be silly together. One of the couples JUST got engaged, and so the whole family was giving them a hard time about getting ready for lots of pictures, etc. I also have to give props to mom and dad who are no longer married, but are adults and unselfish and come to make these pictures happen with a fab attitude. Check out the great group below!
What's the opposite of the winter blues, this cheeful, colorful family session from last fall! :) You're welcome. If this darling family can't bring a smile to your face then I just don't know what to tell ya. Oldest Sis is a little sweet and a lotta spunky, little sis is that precious combo somewhere between baby and preschooler where you just want to eat them. And mom and dad are the kind that enjoy those little personalities and all the chaotic glory! We made this short and sweet so no one (ahem, dad) got too cranky and they could get on with some ice cream... Dads need incentives for good behavior. Check them out below!
This is our nod to little sassy, who runs the show and has all the good poses. :)
Scott & Missy and I go to the gym together (sometimes together, when we all happen to make it at the same time). So I was happy to get a quick family picture for them this summer. They are a great family, spunky, sassy and full of love and fun. My favorite was Missy's oldest daughter had all these ideas she wanted her mom and Scott to do for their couples pictures. She was like, "Scott, pick up mom!" And the young one, well hey, that girl is a spitfire! You'll see when you see the jumpin pose she chose. :) Check out this great family below!
