Amelia and Spencer are one of those couples for which the 'click' sound was probably audible to everyone around to witness them meet. They met in the MTC and proceeded to write to one another the rest of their missions. When Spencer came home from his mission, he got home to California, said, 'nice to see you mom, love you, gotta go to Utah about a girl!' From their it was just finalizing the details! There's no doubt in my mind that these guys are a match made in heaven.
Alec & Lindsey absolutely killed these photos, beautiful day, beautiful couple. We spent some lovely moments prior to their wedding, revealing the dress and walking around the grounds of the temple on a beautiful spring day. I love when the magnolia trees on the grounds have that beautiful purpley/pink flowers are all over. We had such a lovely day and so relaxed as compared to a wedding day which is a little more fast paced! In edition, their wedding day, though it was a couple weeks after this, had a crazy freak snow storm! lol! You never know what mother nature has in store for you! But seeerrrriously, check out this day, and this crazy beautiful couple! So pretty! :)
Jeremy & Sherrie wanted to get together for a 'first look' and a formals shoot prior to the wedding. This is always my favorite way to do it. It's a great way to have a relaxed and private moment to see each other for the first time in the dress & suit. It's a great way to clear up your wedding day of an extended portrait session and yet still get those momento photos to cherish on your anniversaries for years to come, to show to your kids, and let them laugh at the fashion of 20 years before, lol. These two are just too nice, and so great to just try anything and go with whatever. One of the least fussy brides you'll meet, she's even wearing her sister-in-law to be's dress because she's also very practical! I asked Jeremy if that meant he knew what the dress looked like and he said,...
Catching up on some late blogging today by updating you with the cute as heck formals of Jerry & Jocelyn. She wanted winter and snow, and boy did she get winter and snow! That may discourage some brides in their wedding hair, etc but it didn't discourage Jocelyn she was perfectly happy with it. And Jerry was just so excited to see Jocelyn he could hardly contain himself he was practically shaking, so sweet. I think they made a perfect winter couple.
Austin & Jordan are like the best little models. With the wedding upcoming we met up for a dress reveal and formals session and we just had a great time. I could've shot all night if the light didn't eventually leave us. Such a great couple. You can see the way Austin adores Jordan with the way he looks in her eyes, but he also tells her how beautiful she is and how much he loves her. It's really adorable. All with her mom and a photographer 10 feet away too! :)
Tim & Diana are no quick to the wedding couple. They'd been dating about 6 years so they know each other pretty well by now. And after all this time they were still ready to tie the knot. The formals were a fun relaxed moment to meet these two and get to know them before the big wedding. They came separately so they could see each other in wedding gear for the first time on camera and they were so excited. Wedding to come and it's lots and lots of fun!
It's my first one guys, I knew it would happen though... it's a Tinder Wedding! :) Seriously Brad and Cassidy had to actually explain the finer points to me, because I'm only aware of the basics of Tinder. But after both swiping right, Brad got Cassidy's number, but sat on it a minute. She looked into their mutual facebook friends to make sure this cute but unknown Brad guy was legit. And eventually they met up at the Waffle Iron (um, yum) for the first date. Well those sugary waffles set a great tone I guess, as the rest of the romance was sweet (see what I did there? ha.).
These two absolutely killed these formals. When I first talked to them about their wedding there was just no way I could do engagement photos for them (they'd need to get on them in the...
Ashley wanted Josh to see her for the first time in a big reveal, so we did a true First Look on this session. We spent a relaxed evening getting these images ahead of the wedding day. I love formals for that. Wedding days are so much nicer when you have a few less things to do! When you can just hang out with your guests and chat and enjoy the moment. Josh and Ashley agree and so we got the very important portraits handled! :) Check out the first time Josh sees his lovely bride to be in her gown.
We met the day before Casin & Emily's big day to get portraits done before the chaos of the big day. They arrived seperately so that Casin could get a true 'first look' at Emily and we could capture his response. While editing it made me smile over and over. I love that anxious anticipation as they see each other in this huge moment. Some responses are little, some are big, but all involve that loving smile that says, 'wow, we're so lucky'. These two are from Texas, and the weather this day was MORE than a little uncomfortable, even for Utah.... so we all did our very best to be champs and we got great pictures they can look at in the future and say, 'remember how dang cold we were?!' HA. Check out our beautiful popsicles below!!
Derek & Jordyn chose to meet and do a first look and formals session prior to their wedding. The weather this spring and summer seemed to be always turbulent. And though the wind about drove Jordyn crazy with her veil, it looked so pretty! These two gorgeous kids were awesome to work with and their wedding day is coming soon to the block. Check them out below.
